Somatic Release Practice

Allowing what is held in the feminine body to be expressed through movement.

Welcome.

I’m Lisa, creator of Lila Movement, a sacred, feminine, heart-softening, embodiment practice connecting us to the parts of ourselves we have avoided— unconsciously creating a life of distraction so we don’t have to feel. With consistency, this somatic experience slowly strips away the armor guarding our hearts. As we feel and move with suppressed emotions we gain access to more pleasure— a greater experience of love, joy, ecstasy, forgiveness, trust. It is a path guiding us back to our feminine essence.

Lila (Sanskrit: लीला līlā) translates to "divine play"

who lila movement is foR

LILA Movement is for the woman carrying the weight of the unprocessed grief and emotional pain they have never given their body space to fully feel. It’s for the woman who senses that her disconnection from pleasure, truth, purpose, and joy is rooted in what’s been suppressed. She feels a lack of freedom in her body, a dullness in her spirit, and a longing she can’t quite put words to. LILA is for the woman who is ready to release the facade of having it all together, to face into her shadows and meet the depth of her grief, rage, longing, and truth—not to fix herself, but to liberate herself. She knows that on the other side of that darkness lives her radiance. She feels especially moved by music, and desires to reclaim her connection to her body, her sensuality, her femininity, and the full range of her emotional expression. She is ready to feel it all because she knows that true freedom and bliss only come when she lets go and surrenders herself to the dance.

Dance is the original medicine—older than words, deeper than thought. Before we had language, we had rhythm. Before we had therapy, we had trembling feet, shaking hips, and wailing bodies around firelight. It is the most ancient, indigenous way to grieve, praise, purge, and pray. To dance is to remember that healing doesn’t come from fixing—it comes from feeling.

  • “IT'S FREEING. IT'S FREEDOM"

Lisa is totally open and is herself, it gives you space to be the same! She taught me so much about getting into my body and out of my head. About the messiness of being human, to let it ALL be here, to move through your body, to give it a way out, an expression— without judgment.

I let my body express everything that wanted to come up and I got the message that my body is not my enemy.

Thank you Lisa for using your heartache to help others. For letting every emotion be okay— the high and the low, existing at the same time.

  • "less about dance and more about surrender"

I didn’t know I needed that until I did it, and boy did I NEED it. Really hard to put into words my gratitude and feelings about the whole experience!!

Thank you for creating LILA, it is going to open so many doors for so many people. I want everyone to experience this because it truly is less about dance and more about surrender, that was my takeaway at least. Allowing ourselves to be our whole selves and to feel our whole selves without shame and judgement can be tough but this practice really is a key to open up and explore parts of us that are unknown and untouched!

  • "I could really Feel my body unwinding"

Thank you for creating such a beautiful space and experience, I always just really love seeing you in your expression and how you so beautifully create this container for freedom of expression.

I noticed how much tension I was holding in my body and could really feel my body unwinding. As I was moving, jumping and bouncing, I felt the tension in my shoulders dissolve. I also recognized how frequently I'm in my mind. With every song that we laid on the mat, I could feel myself going deeper and deeper into a restful, more peaceful and regenerative state.
